Piano Lessons
We currently offer piano lessons from the beginner through advanced levels (RCM Grade 1 - ARCT Diploma).
Students are taught using a variety of piano study materials according to their unique needs and music aspirations. We also seek to provide opportunities to develop skills in ensemble playing, improvisation, and early composition.

About your piano teacher:Esther Stone has an ARCT diploma in Piano Performance from the Royal Conservatory of Music. she has released several piano CDs and continues to use her piano skills in ministry opportunities through NorthJoy Music. Esther has taught piano lessons for the past nineteen years. She is an experienced accompanist and served as the accompanist for the Almaguin Choral Society for their rehearsals and community concerts from 2015-2020. Esther also accompanies students as they perform in local recitals and RCM examinations.

Piano Students:
I'm a beginner...If you are a beginner then at your first lesson you will be given the opportunity to share what exposure you have had to music. At your first lesson, you'll learn a few basic notes or exercises on the instrument and begin to learn how to read music.

I've taken lessons before...If you have some musical experience in the past, you may be asked to play/sing a song selection of your choice demonstrating your skill on the instrument. You may also be asked to try to play/sing various technical exercises and sight-read a new piece of music.

$20 per half hour • $40 per hour

If you are accepted as a potential student you will be given a date for your first Music Lesson. At successful completion of your first music lesson you will be advised as to what course of study or grade level you will be studying and what music books you should purchase. You (or student's parent) may also be asked to fill out a registration form.
