Voice Lessons
We currently offer voice lessons from beginner through intermediate levels. (RCM Grade 1 - RCM grade 6).
Students are taught using a variety of voice study materials according to their unique needs and music aspirations. We teach the bel canto method of voice which teaches you to use your diaphragm, ensuring that your voice will be clear and beautiful for years to come. We also seek to provide opportunities to develop skills in ensemble singing, improvisation, and early composition.

About your voice teacher:Esther Stone has her Grade 10 Certificate in voice from the Royal Conservatory of Music. She has released two vocal CDs in collaboration with her sister, Deborah Wilson. Esther uses her voice in singing ministry with NorthJoy Music, Inc. She has also been one of the featured soloists with the Almaguin Choral Society for their Christmas and Spring concerts. This is her ninth year teaching voice. Esther has been the recipient of several vocal music awards through the Kiwanis Music Festival of Sudbury.

Voice Students:
I'm a beginner...If you are a beginner then at your first lesson you will be given the opportunity to share what exposure you have had to music. At your first lesson, you'll learn a few basic notes or exercises on the instrument and begin to learn how to read music.

I've taken lessons before...If you have some musical experience in the past, you may be asked to play/sing a song selection of your choice demonstrating your skill on the instrument. You may also be asked to try to play/sing various technical exercises and sight-read a new piece of music.

If you are accepted as a potential student you will be given a date for your first Music Lesson. At successful completion of your first music lesson you will be advised as to what course of study or grade level you will be studying and what music books you should purchase. You (or student's parent) may also be asked to fill out a registration form.
